Cat Health Sneezing
As far as Cat health is concerned sneezing is a problem. Sneezing in cats can be due to infection in nasal passage. This infection can be due to herpes viral infection also. But in most cases the sneezing is due to secondary bacterial infection. Sneezing can be noticed due to dental diseases too. In case of the dental diseases the teeth root infection can certainly cause sneezing.
In cats the ear infections can also affect the cat health by inducing sneezing. Besides these the cats are more prone for nasal polyps. Nasal polyps will result in sneezing as sneezing is a part of the defense mechanism which tries to eliminate the foreign body. Hence it is worth while exercise to examine the nasal passage and oral cavity. But the problem here is for close examination of the nasal passage and oral cavity the cats needs to be anesthetized
There is no doubt that cat health deteriorates with sneezing problem. The allergies can also lead to sneezing in cats, but this cause is not very frequent in cats. Allergies are the major reason for sneezing in case of human beings. The allergy can be due to people dander, dust mite and many other things for which the cats are not used to. The sneezing can also happen due to the fungal infections. The cancers of the nasal passage too can result in sneezing. For the identification of the cancerous growth of the nasal passage various diagnostic methods such as X- rays, MRI and endoscope examinations are used. But all these diagnostic methods baring x rays will be a costly affair.
The cats are more prone for asthma. This asthma besides affecting cat heath causes sneezing too. The asthmatics cats can be diagnosed with ease as the will have difficulty in catching their breath. Incase the asthma is suspected, the cat must be rushed to the veterinarian as early as possible. There are incidences that the cats with cardio sympathy will get continuous sneezing but the link between the heart problem and sneezing is yet to be ascertained.
Presence of foreign body is also the cause for persistent sneezing. This happens in case the cat??™s nasal passage gets by any chance a thread, piece of cloth, pieces of grass etc. Rhinotrachitis is the other reason for the cats to develop sneezing. This can be prevented by vaccinating the cats against virus that is causing this.
The cat health protection by eliminating sneezing is must. As far as the treatment of sneezing is concerned, it is based on the cause of the problem. In case the cause is bacterial infection antibiotics such as gentamycin, ciprofloxacin must be administered. In case of fungal infections antifungal medications such as griseofulvin must be tried. If the cause of sneezing is due the presence of foreign bodies, the elimination of the foreign body from the nasal passage will stop sneezing. The viral causes can be eliminating by proper vaccinations. Once the cat sneezing is stopped the pet animal health improves there after.
